Two happy dogs running toward the camera on a forested Whistler trail

Whistler & Pemberton · Since 2020

Off-leash dog walking in Whistler and Pemberton.

Intentionally small group dog walks led by certified backcountry-trained walkers, and the same face at your door every week.

What We Do

Safe, reliable dog walks and sittings.

We are a Whistler dog-walking company first. Structured, off-leash trail walks built around recall, safety and a group that gets along wonderfully, running six days a week since 2020 for more than 75 dogs. The same walker, the same dogs, the same trail routine week after week.

Prefer one-on-one? That is a Private Adventure Walk. In the valley rather than the village? We run the same small packs in Pemberton. And when you are away for longer, we cover dog sitting and overnight boarding so nobody else has to step in.

Why Choose Doggy Tales Whistler

A team of certified, professional dog walkers.

Whistler's backcountry is not the place to test a weekend dog sitter. Trusting the team at Doggy Tales means confidence your dog is handled by trained professionals — every walk, every season.

  • A real team, not an app. Every group dog walker is a Doggy Tales team member — not a stranger from an app.
  • Certified trail walkers. DogSafe Canine First Aid and Fear Free certified for every walker leading an off-leash trail pack.
  • Wilderness-trained. Bear spray, satellite comms, emergency first-aid kit on every group dog walk.
  • Intentionally small groups. Max 6 dogs per dog walker. We carefully select who joins our Small Pack Walks.

Hudson, a golden retriever cared for by Doggy Tales Whistler

Hudson

Hudson recently had the BEST weekend getaway with Chad, and we couldn't be happier! He spent his weekend adventuring, swimming, exploring, and of course getting lots of snuggles.

Mya, a dog cared for by Doggy Tales Whistler

Mya

I love that I always receive a message afterwards letting me know how things went, along with some lovely photos. This usually comes through while I'm still out, which gives me such peace of mind.

Trained & Certified

Always Learning, Always Growing

Your dog deserves group dog walkers who understand behaviour, body language, and best practices, not just someone who loves dogs. Every walker on our team is certified, insured, and actively trained in canine first aid and fear-free handling.

DogSafe Canine First Aid

Canada's premier canine first aid certification — covering CPR, choking response, wound care, and emergency stabilization. Essential for wilderness walks where help can be hours away.

Fear Free Certified

A science-based, behaviour-led approach to preventing and alleviating fear, anxiety, and stress in the dogs we care for. It's how we keep walks safe, calm, and genuinely enjoyable for every dog in the pack.

Pet Professional Guild Aligned

Informed by science, guided by empathy, governed by ethics. We follow the Pet Professional Guild's force-free standard — no shock, no prong, no choke, no pain — across every walk, sleepover, and training session.

Whistler Dog Walking — Your Questions, Answered

Everything pet parents ask before booking their first walk with us.

Our small-pack, off-leash group walk is $44 per walk, and a one-on-one Private Adventure Walk is $58. Pet sitting is $30 per hour and overnight sleepovers are $110 per night. There are no membership fees — you only pay for the walks you book.

We pick up and walk dogs throughout Whistler — including Creekside, the Village, Alpine Meadows, Emerald Estates, White Gold and Cheakamus — as well as Pemberton. If you're not sure whether we reach your neighbourhood, just ask.

Yes. We run structured off-leash trail walks in small packs of no more than 6 dogs, led by a certified group dog walker. Off-leash time is earned — dogs are assessed for recall and trail readiness first, and anxious, reactive or senior dogs can join a leashed Private Adventure Walk instead.

Absolutely. Doggy Tales is fully insured, and our team is DogSafe canine first-aid and Fear Free certified, with real backcountry and wildlife-safety training. We're a professional team — not a gig-app booking or a hobby side-hustle.

Fill out our online booking form or email doggytaleswhistler@gmail.com. We reply within 24 hours and set up a meet-and-greet before the first walk — a full hour with your walker, $50 + GST — so we can match your dog to the right pack and walker.

Regular walks run Tuesday to Sunday, 8 am to 4 pm. Recurring weekday walks are the most popular option and book up fast in peak season, so we recommend reserving your spot early.
