Doggy Tales Whistler has been raising the dog walking standard since 2020. We are passionate about providing safe and positive experiences through our commitment to R plus and Fear Free tools and training. Our staff are Dogsafe First Aid & CPR certified and equipped. We leave only pawprints and love supporting small local businesses that offer eco conscious products. We are dedicated to ongoing education on topics such as body language, nutrition, reactivity, enrichment and more. Abbey is currently studying with the Karen Pryor Academy to become a fully certified trainer. We are very excited to be able to start offering training services, classes, and packages later this year!
I grew up in rural Ontario spending every moment possible outside with our Australian Shepherd Angus and my horse for over a decade, Marko. When I moved to Montreal I had plans of applying to veterinary school after studying at McGill. I ended up completing a BSc in Biodiversity and Conservation and was lucky enough to spend my final semester at the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand. After a year living and working on organic farms in Ontario, I then completed a postgraduate certificate in Ecosystem Restoration at Niagara College.
When I finished my studies, I decided to move to Whistler just for a season. I was working as a restaurant manager and caring for dogs in my spare time through Rover when covid hit. That was when I decided to follow my true passion for working with animals and started Doggy Tales Whistler in 2020. My mission is to enhance the lives of dogs and their families by empowering people with the knowledge and skills to form a relationship based on trust and understanding. I'm excited to be studying in the KPA Certified Trainer program and the prospect of making a bigger difference in the lives of people and their pets!

Sadie joined us as an experienced group dog hiker in November 2022. She has done 6 seasons in Whistler and is originally from Hamilton, Ontario. She now lives in White Gold with her partner Callum and their adorable cat Mayo! On her days off, Sadie enjoys days on the mountain, bike trails, and volunteering her time at PAWS (Pemberton Animal Wellbeing Society). Sadie has been the perfect full time addition to our Small Pack Walk Club, leading our Doggy Taler's on epic adventures Tuesday-Friday each week! Sadie is currently working on completing her Fear Free certification and has big plans for the future. Welcome Auntie Sadie - we are lucky to have you!
